My name is Delaney Miller and I joined the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company in July of 2014. I went through the cadet program in 2014-2015. As a senior I attended Patterson Mill High School part time and Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute part time obtaining EMT-B. I am now an EMS Sergeant assigned to the BAVFC Patterson Mill Station where I help to mentor new people that are joining the fire department.
I am currently enrolled at Harford Community college studying nursing. I work at Harford Memorial Hospital in the emergency department and I do home care for Kathrine’s Keepers. I plan on finishing my nursing degree and becoming an ER nurse and then obtaining my paramedic in the near future.
I joined the BAVFC because I’ve always wanted to be an EMT, paramedic or nurse. Joining was the best thing that has happened to my medical career because it got me steered in the right direction and has taught me so much medically and ethically.
