| On February 13, 2026, at 6:44 a.m., the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company responded to a reported dwelling fire in the 1600 block of North Fountain Green Road. Citizens traveling along Route 543 reported seeing flames coming from the side of a home, prompting the dispatch of units on Box 313-1. Engine 313 arrived on scene to find the home’s carport involved with fire. Firefighters from Engine 313 quickly stretched a handline and began extinguishing the fire. Crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading further into the home. Personnel from Tower 3 and Rescue 3 assisted by opening up sections of the structure, allowing firefighters to locate and extinguish fire that had extended into the attic space. Thanks to the quick actions of responding crews, the fire was brought under control and further damage to the home was limited. Units operating on the scene included Engine 313, Tower 3, Engine 316, Rescue 3, and Deputy Chief 3, who served as incident command. The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company reminds residents to ensure working smoke alarms are installed on every level of their home and inside sleeping areas. Early detection can provide critical time to escape and call 911 in the event of a fire. |
