Safeway Store Collapse
The BAVFC with assistance from the Aberdeen Fire Department, Inc., Abingdon Fire Company, and Harford Co TRT worked a roof collapse at the Safeway store on Brier Hill Drive in Bel Air.
All occupants were accounted for with no injuries. Firefighter’s searched the store physically and also used the stores surveillance system to look for any customers that may have been inside. There is a significant compromise of the roof in the produce section of the store from front to back. The roof has buckled down but has not opened.
Fire Department shut off all utilities (electric, gs and water) to the Safeway. No other exposure buildings are involved but were closed completely due to safety concerns of potential collapse. Their electrical services were shut down.
