Two School Bus Collisions With Rescue

BAVFC crews worked two motor vehicle incidents this am involving school buses, one at Rt 543 and Hillside and one at Rt 543 and Redfield.

On arrival at Hillside units found one vehicle that had rear ended a school bus and was up wedged underneath the rear. Assessment found just one person on board the bus was injured, no one else. That person was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

While this was occurring bystanders and calls indicated there was a second incident also involving another bus at Rt 543 and Redfield (approx 1/2 mile away). They advised that a passenger vehicle driver was trapped and the car was on fire. On arrival minutes later units found the car fire out with the driver trapped and one school bus involved. Extrication was completed within 10 minutes. One person from the car was taken by aviation to a regional trauma center. One person on the bus was taken to a local hospital for very minor injuries.
